High 49F, Low 35F, Snow: ?
No snow this morning, but it likely snowed while I was sleeping. New Albion got 1.3", nothing reported from Mayville or Jamestown. Cloudy early on, with clouds breaking up beginning this afternoon. It's 43F and with clear skies, looks like we'll be going below the forecast low of 38F.

4:52pm High 55, Low 39
Windy, lake effect precip. Snow, sleet, and rain fell for about 2 minutes at 1:45pm at school. Activity has weakened and is largely cellular. Expecting it to increase tonight with snow mixing tomorrow morning. 850mb temperatures are now below zero.
7:48pm Increasing precip and organization, 42F. Sounds like it sleeted a few minutes ago, therefore;

October 17, 2010

NWS Buffalo
UNSETTLED WEATHER WILL BE THE RULE ON THURSDAY AS THE AFOREMENTIONED
COLD FRONT DROPS SOUTH ACROSS NEW YORK STATE. STILL PREFER THE
WARMER ECMWF SOLUTION WHICH ADVANCES THE FRONT SLOWER TO THE SOUTH
THAN THE GFS. BASED ON THIS TREND...EXPECT RAIN TO BE THE
PREDOMINANT PCPN TYPE FOR THURSDAY. A BRISK NORTHWEST FLOW OF
COLDER AIR WILL FOLLOW THE FRONT THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. STILL
LOOKS LIKE THE BOUNDARY LAYER TEMPERATURES WILL GET COLD ENOUGH TO
SUPPORT A RAIN/SNOW MIX...WITH A CHANGEOVER TO ALL SNOW POSSIBLE
ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN TIER AND EAST OF LAKE
ONTARIO. STAY TUNED. SOME LAKE ENHANCED PCPN IS ALS…
